This film is inspired by the people of Quang Tri on the North Central Coast of Vietnam, which was one of the most heavily bombed areas in the history of modern warfare. It centers around a woman named Nguyet and her mother, who run a small junkyard on the outskirts of Quang Tri. The film explores the ways in which material contains memory and holds potential for transformation, reincarnation, and healing.

Archivmaterial der US-Armee wird mit Aufnahmen einer Blindgängerentschärfung in der vietnamesischen Küstenprovinz Quảng Trị konfrontiert. Die Bombardierung mehrerer Regionen in Vietnam, Laos und Kambodscha während des Vietnamkriegs (1955 - 1975) durch die US-Streitkräfte hinterließ Hunderttausende von nicht explodierten Kampfmitteln, die unter der Erde verborgen sind und noch heute eine Bedrohung für die Anwohner darstellen. Als Teil eines Regenerationsprozesses soll der Film zur Heilung eines Landes beitragen, das durch seine Verseuchung enteignet wurde. Die Verschmutzung durch Landminen und Blindgänger hat die ländliche Bevölkerung in Mitleidenschaft gezogen und eine dramatische Spur von Todesopfern und amputierten Gliedmaßen hinterlassen, und diese Menschen müssen von der Todesgefahr befreit werden, die unter der Oberfläche lauert.

Archival footage from the US army is juxtaposed with recorded images of an unexploded ordnance deactivation in the Vietnamese coastal province of Quảng Trị. The bombing of several regions in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia during the Vietnam War (1955 - 1975) by the United States Armed Forces left hundreds of thousands of unexploded ordnances hidden underground, that still pose a threat to local inhabitants today. As part of a regenerative process, the film aims to contribute towards the healing of a land that was dispossessed by its contamination. Landmine and UXO pollution has affected rural populations, leaving a dramatic trail of fatalities and amputated limbs, and those populations must be liberated from the threat of death that lies beneath the surface.
