Die junge Afeefa lebt in Kashmir, einem Bundesstaat im Norden Indiens, der durch den Grenz-Konflikt mit dem benachbarten Land Pakistan geprägt ist. Es ist eine Atmosphäre von dauernder Unsicherheit und Gewalt, in der sie aufwuchs. Durch ihr persönliches Trauma und ihre Erfahrungen will Regisseur Prabhash Chandra, der bisher am Theater tätig war und einen Dokumentarfilm drehte, die komplexe Realität des Lebens in der Region dem Publikum näher bringen. Es gibt viele verschiedene, teils widersprüchliche  Ansichten zu Kaschmir, sowohl vor Ort als auch außerhalb. Welche Kräfte sind dort am Werk und was machen der Konflikt mit den Menschen?

Young Afeefa lives in Kashmir, a state in the north of India, which is marked by the border conflict with the neighbouring country of Pakistan. It is an atmosphere of constant insecurity and violence in which she grew up. Through her personal trauma and experiences, director Prabhash Chandra, who previously worked in theatre and made a documentary film, wants to bring the complex reality of life in the region closer to the audience. There are many different, sometimes conflicting views on Kashmir, both locally and outside. What forces are at work there and what is the conflict doing to the people?
