The film tells the story of two young performers, a pianist and a singer who arrive in a small village where they face resistance from the local authorities. Educated in Western European countries they travel through small provincial towns in Albania in 1936 to bring their art to the people and to support women emancipation while carrying their piano from village to village. The two artists are warmly welcomed by ordinary citizens but also encounter local authorities who present themselves as modern yet are fundamentally in contrast with them. The film is loosely based on the life of the Albanian soprano singer Tefta Tashko Koço and features original music.

Der Film erzählt die Geschichte zweier junger Künstler, eines Pianisten und einer Sängerin, die in ein kleines Dorf kommen wo sie auf Widerstand der lokalen Behörden stoßen.
