DUST to DUST, [OmeU], Bulgaria 2025 AR/Director: Milena Kaneva MIT: Michail Michailov, Irina Batkova, Roberto Cicutto, Stella Rollig, 65 Min

Q/A with the Director and the Artist

"Dust is what remains of the performance called Life", says artist Michail Michailov. This poetic documentary follows the artist whose drawings of dust first shocked and then mesmerized the world, exploring the real and the unreal, and questioning meaning, value, and the traces we leave behind. From Paris and the Drawing Now Prize to the Bulgarian Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale and a six-month exhibition at the Upper Belvedere Museum, the film invites us to pause, observe, and reflect. Like a modern Don Quixote, Michail shows how a fragile microcosm can quietly shape the macrocosm.
